The State Ensemble of Song and Dance "Mhedruli" is one of the most captivating and skillful ensembles in Georgia.
In Georgian, "Mhedruli" means "Horseman Warrior"—a name that inspires the ensemble’s signature dance, performed with exceptional temperament, technique, and artistry, which audiences will experience live on stage.
"Mhedruli" is also the name of one of the oldest scripts in the world, still used in Georgia today. It has been recognized by UNESCO as part of the World Cultural Heritage, along with Georgia’s mesmerizing polyphonic singing, featured in the ensemble’s unforgettable concerts.
Founded in 2002, and granted State Ensemble status in 2011, Mhedruli has received international acclaim in Turkey, Italy, Greece, the Czech Republic, Austria, France, Germany, and Ukraine, and has enjoyed tremendous success in China with a tour of 31 sold-out concerts.
The performance brought to Bulgarian audiences is titled "The Spirit of Georgia", telling the story of the nation—its history, legends, and deep love for God, for Women, and for Mothers.
